A hanging light may draw more attention to the fact that it’s a bit off-centre, but chandeliers are often hung in the centre of a room successfully. If it bothers you, you can easily use a ceiling medallion that allows you to move the light wires over and hide the old hole without need for repair. (You can buy a ceiling medallion at most home-building centres or lighting stores.) Be sure that the chandelier doesn’t interfere with anyone’s head space and put it on a dimmer so that romance is at your fingertips.
