Will & Kate Open New Children's Cancer Center

[UPDATED] Today (September 29th), the Royal Couple opened a new children's cancer center at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, which took 2.5 years to build.

The hospital is a world-leading cancer center, specializing in cancer diagnosis, treatment, research and education. Will and Kate toured the new unit and met staff and patients, and Will was to unveil a plaque to officially open it.

Will has taken over the role of president of the hospital, a charity once held by his late mother, Princess Diana, who opened the Marsden's first children's cancer unit in 1992.

London Evening Standard reports that the "new two-storey centre has been designed to be light and open, with outside play spaces, a patio and roof terrace, to keep patients 'close to nature' to aid their recovery."
