While we're excited about the scores of recent celeb engagements, we can't help but worry that the betrothed couples will become gossip-mag fodder when tabloids announce their messy divorces in the not-so-distant future.
To quell our anxieties that the upcoming newlyweds won't be filing for annulments before the wedding gifts are unpacked, we thought we'd take a look at Hollywood couples who have proven that love and marriage can survive in Tinseltown.
1. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner
The all-American couple have been married for six years. They have two daughters, Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3, and they are currently expecting their third child. "Ben is not only my husband, he has helped me in every way," said Garner of her hubby. "He is the base of my life.
2. Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani
Rockers Gwen and Gavin tied the knot in 2002 (you'll likely remember Gwen's stunning gown with hot-pink skirt). The couple keep a low profile when it comes to their relationship and their sons, Kingston, 5, and Zuma, 3, are quite possibly the planet's coolest kids. "It's one of my biggest achievements," says Gwen of her 10-year marriage.
3. David and Victoria Beckham
These sexy superstars have have been married for 12 years. They have three sons and a daughter and, despite their high profile, "they go together to pick up their groceries," says close friend David Furnish.
4. Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker
SJP and Matthew have been together for 20 years and married for 14. They have three children together: James Wilkie, 9, and 2-year-old twins Tabitha and Loretta. "You have good days, you have decent days, and you have bad days. That's what marriage is," said the former Sex and the City star.
5. Warren Beatty and Annette Benning
The couple met when Beatty cast Benning in the 1991 film, Bugsy. 19 years and four children later, Beatty, 74, and Benning, 53 are a Hollywood power couple. "We just fell in love," says Benning of their connection.
6. Denzel Washington and Pauletta Pearson
Denzel met his future Mrs. while working on his first acting gig -- a TV series called Wilma -- in 1977. They have been married for a whopping 28 years and have four children. Denzel's advice for a lasting marriage? "Do what your wife tells you and keep your mouth shut."
