We don't normally associate graveyards with holiday cheer -- but one organization is working hard to bring some of the real spirit of Christmas-time to America's military cemeteries.
It's not the most holly-jolly festive activity, but what Wreaths Across America does is a thousand times more moving than It's A Wonderful Life. Since 1992, they've made it their mission to place a Christmas wreath on as many service member headstones as they can. They do it as a tribute to the fallen, and tell all their volunteers to pause and read the name on the headstone when they place the wreath. It's a way of saying thank-you for incredible sacrifice -- especially important at a time of year when it's oh-so-easy to get all squirrelled up in ourselves.
This year, they'll be laying wreaths on December 15th in over 500 different cemeteries. To see them in action, check out the video below. Whatever your politics, it's pretty moving...so consider yourself warned!
