My main rule is, “One comes in; one goes out.” Tidy up your closets and take stock of your collection. Then donate what doesn’t fit and only bring home new friends if you’re willing to part with old ones.

Are you secretly seeking an intervention or do you simply want a pass from your partner to accumulate more footwear? If you haven’t already done so, designate a specified space for your collection and edit it to fit that square footage. Give the overflow to charity. You’ll feel a lot better knowing it’s under control. If that doesn’t work, I know the number of a climate-controlled storage service that charges reasonable rates.
