A couple from New York is suing celebrity wedding planner David Tutera for standing them up at their "dream" wedding.
According to NY Daily News, Tutera failed to show up for Hector Santana and Wendylee Perez's Dominican Republic wedding in November 2010.
Tutera, host of the reality TV show "My Fail Fair Wedding," tripled the cost of the Punta Cana reception from $10,000 to $30,000 and didn't provide invitations, flowers or a DJ, as promised.
The now blissfully-married couple also missed out on the ceremonious cutting of the cake because, you guessed it, Tutera didn't provide one.
Santana and Perez claim that Tutera was a no-show because he was busy taping his reality TV series when he should have been working on their wedding.
As for Tutera, he says he couldn't attend the wedding because he had to take care of a sick relative.
The bride's mom, Ercilla Perez, said Tutera "noted the day before that he was not coming" because "someone was in the hospital."
As stated in their lawsuit, the couple "have been harmed personally and financially" and will continue to pursue legal action against Tutera, regardless of his insistence that he was dealing with a family issue.
"The wedding was not what we expected," continued the mother of the bride.
This isn't the first time that Tutera's been in the dog house with one of the couples whose weddings he planned: Earlier this year, a lawsuit involving a Bostonian "bridezilla" and her $300,000 Singapore wedding was quietly settled.
