It's with rather nervous laughter that I giggle at the butter cream disasters featured on Cake Wrecks. With my wedding less than a month away, these cake-tastrophes are the stuff my nightmares are made of!
Alas, they are too funny not share with you. Plus, we've learned a thing or two from other brides' confectionery misfortunes and thought we'd impart our wisdom.
Lesson #1: If you have something nice to say, use your words, not your cake.
Lesson #2: Make sure your baker knows you would like icing to cover the ENTIRE cake.
Lesson #3: If you've got any doubts about your baker's abilities, remember the adage "less is more" when choosing a design.
Lesson #4: Ensure your baker can count to 3.
Lesson #5: If possible, include 3D CAD drawings of your design so that your baker understands your preferred dimensions.
We hope all of you have stunning wedding cakes, but even if you do end up with something heinous, just remember that there's no way flour and butter can ruin your special day!
