Groom Says "I Do" From A Stretcher

You spend a lot of your wedding day on your feet -- unless you're American groom Matthew Foulk. He celebrated the day flat on his back, even saying his vows  in a reclining position.

Comfortable as it was, it wasn't exactly how this Meadville, Pennsylvania couple had envisioned their big day. The groom herniated a disc in his back just a month before the wedding, leaving him unable to walk or stand. Not willing to cancel the big day after two years of work, they swathed a stretcher in white and the show went on.

"We didn’t really have to adjust wedding plans that much overall,” bride Samantha Jo told the Meadville Tribune. “We just added times for him to lie down and rest during the service.”

Their honeymoon also revolved around all things medical:

"My wife became my nurse after surgery. She dressed me, helped me brush my teeth etc," said Michael.

Clearly they've got the "in sickness" part of their vows down. Here's hoping they get a chance to practice "in health"!
